Home > About us

Founded by Ricky van Well and Janet Morsman, Quilters Dream is a shop specialising in Quilting and Embroidery. Using three former offices in the Commercial Centre, Picket Piece, Andover, we opened on 01 September 2006. Two of the rooms are used for the shop, while the other is a dedicated course room.
We started conservatively, but still had hundreds of fabrics and accessories to choose from. We have since then more than tripled our stock, and add more every week. Our stock comes from around the world; there are embroidery items from Germany, fabrics from America, Hawaii, Australia, England and Free Trade fabric from Tanzania. With our Free Trade fabric, we support children’s education in Tanzania.  Twenty per cent of the costs of the fabric go towards sponsoring children through primary school.
We are both skilled quilters and embroiderers and enjoy giving help and advice as well as demonstrating new techniques, so it is important for us to give our customers the highest level of service. We offer workshops and courses for all skill levels.
Being face to face with customers, helping them with queries and getting to know what they would like to see in the shop, makes our shop more attractive . Janet and I have very different tastes in fabric, which result in a large choice of very beautiful fabric from all over the world.
The Commercial Centre is well sign-posted from the ring road. Access to our upstairs premises themselves is easy, either via a staircase , by using a wheelchair-friendly ramp or the stairlift. There is free parking in front of the shop at all times.
There is a social morning in our shop, where like-minded people can meet, bringing their own projects, sharing ideas, tips and tricks and obtaining advice if needed. One of us is always around to offer advice and a cup of tea or coffee. Actually, the atmosphere all week is generally one of friendliness between us and our visitors. We often feel that our customers see the shop as theirs as much as they see it as ours.
We hope you will enjoy our shop and looking forwards meeting you.
