Dear Quilter
We’ve enjoyed meeting so many enthusiastic quilters and embroiderers and hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us to celebrate our six anniversary on Saturday 15 September. There will be refreshments and demonstrations during the day and the first day of our week-long Sale
with up to 50% off.
We’re offering lots of new classes and repeating some of the popular ones in September. We have new workshop, as well as beginner and improver classes. Plus bag workshops using Japanese folded patchwork, make an Advent calendar in a day (most of it anyway), tips on how to use those gorgeous Jelly rolls, and lots more.
Quilt artist Janet Clare is coming to teach at our shop on Saturday 20th October. Janet creates inspirational, fun and lively quilt designs that combine her unique jointed appliqué templates with free machine drawing. Come along to this fun workshop and learn how to transform and personalise your appliqué with Janet’s quick and simple method. Limited spaces
For all of you who like the Australian quilts and bags which mix embroidery and patchwork, we are offering new classes that use these styles with our own designs and patterns.
New Stock:
We were lucky enough to meet American quilt author and fabric designer Jo Patek and have bought her new Sample Spree block of the month. You will be able to sign up for this which will include the fabric pack with Jo’s designs from Moda from the beginning of December to the end of January. First come first serve, we only have a limited amount of fabric packs. This Block of the month will start in February. You have the option of joining us every second Thursday in the month for tea/coffee, cake and demo how to make the block. Full details when you sign up.
Mystery Saturday Sampler begins Feb 2013. This is our second Mystery Saturday Sampler and will be always held the 2nd Saturday of each month and runs for 10 month. The last month is November 2013. Saturday Sampler is always a mystery. You will not see the finished quilt until October 2013.
You need to sew each month’s assignment and bring it with you the next month. Please have it ready to show us to get the next kit.
Demonstration will be held through the day. You are not required to attend a demo. However, this is to learn skills to help you in constructing your blocks. You have until closing at 16:00pm to bring in your finished blocks and pick up a new kit. You will be able to sign up for this which will include the fabric kit from the beginning of December to the end of January.More later

We now stock Quiltmania magazine and lots of their books. Some are in French and English but the ones only in French have lots of photos’ and very clear instruction sheets with full size patterns. We also have many Australian magazines such as the popular Homespun and Inspirations with lots of fantastic embroidery projects.
Our haberdashery and accessory stock has expanded by quite a bit. With patterns, quilt hangers and embellishing packs from Hill Creek Designs.
As some of you know, if you have been to our shop, we do love our bags and have two new suppliers of bag accessory and have a large selection of zips with charms, great handles, snaps etc. to make some of the tempting bags from our patterns and books from the talented Yoko Saito, Lisa Lam and Annie Downs just to name a few.
